Islam In Europe Is Really Hard To Talk About
Well I'm at Redneck Ghetto High School with nothing to do as usual, so I figured I'd throw a post up just for shits and giggles. Also, I may not be able to post tomorrow so I thought it would be prudent to provide you with some mind expansion just in case. Obviously if you haven't guessed from the title of this post, today I'm going to be talking about the growing problem of radical Islamic violence in Europe. This is a really touchy subject for a bunch of people for a bunch of reasons. Obviously it's touchy for people on the left who don't want to be called racists, and because they don't want to get, well, killed. It's projected that before the end of this century Europe is going to have a Muslim majority, so obviously people are going to have to fix up this situation pretty quick here before it gets even worse. I mean seriously, I was down with the riots, but all this hullabaloo about those cartoons printed in Denmark is just ridiculous. I hate to bust on people's religion but to try and control free speech in a country you were ALLOWED to emigrate to is kind of insane to me.But that's really aside the point. The real interesting thing about this problem is that for the first time in , you know, ever a threat to Europe's "liberal multi-cultural tolerant" society isn't coming from white Christians. What this creates is a reluctance to speak about issues coming from immigrant communities, all of which were created by Europe's "liberal" policies anyway. If you look at how and why the majority of Muslims came to Europe, it was as guest workers. They weren't allowed to integrate into society, and were/still are kept in disgusting project buildings far away from Europe's "vibrant cultural centers". So all of this conflict is, in effect, the hate that hate produced. Who wants to bet that had Europe not abused and isolated it's immigrant workers so much and allowed them to become a part of its society, this whole culture clash wouldn't be happening.
To quote Bawer "Europeans … will allow immigrants into their country; they'll pay high taxes so that their government can dole out (forever, if necessary) rent support, child benefits. … But they won't really think of them as being Norwegian or Dutch. And they'll rebel mightily against the idea of immigrants living among them as respected, fully equal professionals." Gee, is it any wonder these people have a hostile reaction to Europe? Which is not to justify all of this violence and intolerance, but you can only tease a dog so long until it bites you.
The fact of the matter is that Muslims are a large part of Europe now, and as long as they live in Europe they're going to have to adjust to the society they live in and respect other people's idealogy. On the other hand, "liberal" "tolerant" Europe is going to have to accept them as full citizens too. It's a. not fair and b. typically European/aristocratic to expect people to live in dilapidated public housing 50 miles away from you, work in a factory, and then keep quiet when you disrespect their religion. Protesting the cartoons is straight, but threatening to kill people over them isn't. There's a place where stuff like that is ok, it's called whichever Muslim country you guys came from. If you're going to live somewhere else, you're going to have to play by their rules.
Footnote: Earlier in this situation, I declared solidarity with the oppressed Muslim youth of Europe. I still retain that, and am in no way against immigration to anywhere. And if you didn't guess, I still see Europe as being more in the wrong in this whole ordeal. And I still rock my "RAKAILLE" shirt proudly. Fuck the police relates everywhere. Mort Pour Rien, suckers. But then again, killing innocent people isn't cool, especially for exercising rights given to them in a democratic, pluralistic society. Peace to all the "rakaille" throughout Europe, but some of you need to get it together a bit more.

you had me reading intently, thinking this kid is pretty smart for a youngin. BUT
Your argument fell apart when you suggest that Muslims are reacting to cartoons with violence because of the way they are treated in Europeans countries?
These people have many choices.Albeit not as easy as a white Europeans, yet, they do have choices and the freedom to act on them. They can come and integrate into the culture or they can close themselves off from the adoptive culture which is what most of these people do. They want the adoptive country to bide by their culture. I think you are making too many excuses for these perverse radicals. And your argument doesn't explain why people in Pakistan who are NOT "Opressed" by Europeans are nuts over a silly cartoon.
