Saturdaaaaay

This weird guy that lives in my house and yells at me all the time to turn down Ice Cube (pictured above) finally got his associates degree yesterday. Holler at him here to tell him congratulations and thank him for giving me my awesome first name. This might seem irrelevant to everybody else but it's a big deal to me and my family, and I thought it would be cool for everyone to know that. Speaking of the Cube, his new song "Race Card" is actually pretty awesome. As Serg pointed out he's pretty much a massive sellout right now, but does that mean that as conscientous hip hoppers we can't still enjoy his music? That's kind of a plaguing question.

And while you're here, I also want to take the time to talk about something important to me. Around the late summer of last year, a 7 year old kid named Ricky Holland from my area (town to the north) went missing. There was a huge search effort to find him, all in vain. He had some issues and a history of running away from his home where he lived with his foster parents. A couple months later, both of his foster parents ratted on each other and his body was found on a roadside a couple miles away from where a bunch of my friends live. However, when his adopted father was confessing, the idiot cops didn't read him his Miranda rights correctly so they have to throw his confession out.

The reason I haven't posted about this before is because it hadn't really been on my mind as much as it should have been. But then Natalee Holloway's all on the news again, so I thought I needed to give Ricky his respect on my blog. A rural kid from a working class family disappeared and was found murdered in my area and got no media coverage outside Michigan, but Natalee the blonde upper class suburban girl who disappeared in "paradise" is still on CNN. That ain't justice. Why is her life more important than little Ricky's? That's a pretty hard question. Anyway, I feel horrible for not posting about this earlier. Rest In Peace Ricky. You'll be remembered.
